EDI held its second National Conference "Surviving Breast Cancer" in September 2008 and was aimed at highlighting progress and plans in relation to Specialist Breast Centres in Ireland – after the shocking misdiagnosis revelations of 2007. With over 25,000 women living in Ireland following a diagnosis of breast cancer, the conference focused on follow-up and advocacy in action.
