I received my diagnosis of breast cancer in 2013 when I was 36 years old. Today, I am still here, thanks to excellent medical care and unrelenting family support. I’ve had a lot of help.

After I recovered from treatment, I wanted to try to help counter this devastating disease that affects so many women. That’s why I became a volunteer patient advocate with Europa Donna Ireland in 2015.

I have learned a lot about breast cancer and have undertaken patient advocacy training in Milan, thanks to EUROPA DONNA - The European Breast Cancer Coalition. The passionate dedication of talented cancer researchers and clinicians gives me hope and I continue to draw inspiration from the women I meet along the way who have also experienced breast cancer.

There is no doubt that together we are stronger.

Areas of particular interest to me are:

  • Survivorship issues for younger women
  • Breast cancer and fertility
  • The patient voice in research
