BREAST HEALTH DAY 2010
Walking in Charleville WoodsFor Breast Health Day on 15 October Europa Donna Ireland liaised with and encouraged community organisations, cancer support groups and family resource centres around the country to hold their own local events to mark the day nationwide.
Among the activities were a “Community Conga” walk through Finglas organised by Project West CDP (see their Facebook page), walkabouts in Bray organised by Bray Cancer Support Centre and in the grounds of Charleville Castle in Offaly by Dochas Support Centre, aqua aerobic classes and talks about breast screening.
Bray Cancer Support Centre WalkAthlone Public Library displayed their relevant book titles and other cancer awareness publications. There was also a belly dancing morning held at HOPE Cancer Support Centre in Enniscorthy!
Europa Donna Ireland marked the day with the Anna Livia Mile Walk in central Dublin starting at O2 and ending at Grand Canal Dock where everyone participated in exercises with ex-Olympian sports nutritionist Marie Murphy. See more photos here.
