In May Marie Murphy, Exercise Specialist/Nutritionist, and 1988 Irish Olympian, shared with us how exercise can help lower our risk/recurrence of breast cancer and how applying progressive resistance training early following breast cancer surgery can help lower our risk of side effects.
We are building up to Breast Health Day by giving 3 free classes in resistance training in Dublin at the Gloucester Street Sports Centre, Gloucester St South, Dublin 2 to anyone who would like to improve their fitness level. Classes will be led by Marie Murphy on the following dates:
• Monday 13 September 8.00 pm
• Monday 20 September 8.00 pm
• Monday 27 September 8.00 pm
PLUS …. The Anna Livia Mile walk
takes place on Breast Health Day, Friday 15 October in central Dublin at 1pm. The Plurabelle Paddlers – the Dragon Boat Team – will be joining us on the walk which will start on the riverside at 02 and will end at Grand Canal Dock, home to the Dragon Boats. More details and updates will appear here.
All the events are free – this is an awareness raising event, not a fundraiser.
