New ARC cancer support centre now open in Dublin 

ARC has just opened a new cancer support centre on 559 South Circular Road, Dublin 8. The new centre will offer counselling and complementary therapies to people diagnosed with cancer and to people who care for them.  Phone 01-7078880 for more information.

RTE Morning Ireland Cancer Series

Between 9-13 November,  RTE Radio 1's Morning Ireland featured a series on cancer in Ireland, including developments in breast, prostate and lung cancer services, progress in the rollout of the National Cancer Control Plan and developments in cancer research. There were  interviews with cancer experts and patients undergoing cancer treatment. Listen back to the section on breast cancer here.

9th EUROPA DONNA Pan-European Conference, Stockholm

The conference was a chance to meet European breast cancer experts and also to meet women with experience of breast cancer from many European countries. 

9 things you should know about breast cancer

Europa Donna Ireland launched a leaflet on 5 October highlighting 9 things every woman in Ireland should know about breast cancer. The leaflet was launched by Minister Mary Harney and it was delivered to three quarters of a million households around the country. Download the leaflet (478 KB)

15 October - Breast Health Day

On 15 October, we urged women to do something active and organise an event in their local area. This was an awareness-raising event with no fund-raising involved. See list of events that took place around the country

LIVESTRONG Global Cancer Summit Dublin

The Lance Armstrong Foundation LIVESTRONG Global Cancer Summit took place in Dublin in August. The Summit convened world leaders, advocates and representatives from non-profits and corporations.

Paul Smith Tote Bag and Men's T-Shirt in aid of Fashion Targets Breast Cancer Ireland

Paul Smith Tote Bag

Brown Thomas teamed up with British designer Paul Smith to create a colourful canvas tote bag and men's t-shirt to highlight awareness of breast cancer amongst men.

Both the t-shirt and bag are available from Irish Cancer Society's online shop.

All proceeds go to Action Breast Cancer and Europa Donna Ireland.
